and I am okay with that. We have been working weeks with Trent on riding his bike without training wheels, when I say weeks, I mean, 2 times out of a month span. Working with Trent went like this: "Get on the bike Trent". "No". In a louder more stern voice, "Get on the bike Trent". "FINE!!!!". "I will hold it, you get on. Okay, ready?". I give him a push and then run along the bike, Trent gets frustrated and crashes. We do a couple more times. We all are frustrated, put the training wheels back on and call it good.
Every summer or track break, my parents take the kids for a week. What a special time this is for my kids to spend with grandma and grandpa. When I say a special time, I mean this is a rocking free week for mom (oh yea, and I guess dad too). Scott and I had big plans to paint while the kids were gone, but long story short, color wrong a lot of frustration, "We are going out to eat and the movie". No arguments here.
Over at grandma and grandpa's they had a little more success with Trent. We got the "small" bike out of storage, when I say storage I mean along side the house and it went with the kids to grandma's house. First time out, Trent asked grandpa if he could ride the bike. Grandpa takes him out and away Trent goes!! Trent's confidence level rises 1000% and he is the master of riding a bike without training wheels.
If that wasn't enough mastery for grandma and grandpa, they had to rub it in a little more. Grandma taught Emmett (yes, Emmett) to ride the electric 4wheeler. It is the cutest thing.
When I went to pick up Emmett from a weekend at grandma's, both Trent and Emmett had to show me their new tricks. Emmett only got to spend the weekend of the week, I thought it would be more fun for the older ones to not have the "baby" around, when I say more fun I mean Emmett had therapy appointments.
